Primary Responsibilities:

The Administrator, Infusion Pharmacy, will coordinate the pharmacy’s activities with nursing, physicians, and the business office for all patients receiving infusion services at both locations. This includes, but is not limited to, all infusion activities, including performing Chemotherapy and antibiotic admixtures for the clinic departments, service coordination, charge capture, and patient services. Manages pharmacy-prepared infusion medications administered at both locations, including accurate and complete charge capture. The Infusion pharmacy administrator is responsible for all USP 797 regulations and compliance of the clean rooms. Also responsible for planning, directing, developing, and coordinating activities of the Infusion pharmacy to attain goals and objectives. Coordinates activities and education with the pharmacist, pharmacy technicians, and the nursing staff. Responsible for: achievement of customer service and financial objectives; adherence to professional practices and Kelsey-Seybold policies and procedures; and management of all assigned personnel, including students. Manage inventory and the overall cost of service provision. Maintains current oncology protocols and monitors dispensing per formulary. Upon need or request, staff duties perform, including but not limited to accurate dispensing and counseling of prescriptions to customers and distribution of clinic-use pharmaceuticals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Texas license Registered Pharmacist B
  • IV Certified and knowledgeable of USP 797 regulations
  • 2+ years of hospital and retail pharmacy experience
  • 2+ years of experience in an oncology/specialty setting
  • 2+ years of experience in a manager role such as PIC or charge pharmacist
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Pharmacy Department personnel to delegate duties, and inform and train on policies and procedures
  • Ability to communicate with physicians and other allied health professionals regarding patient care issues
  • Ability to communicate with customers and in-clinic patients to handle complaints, resolve problems, and provide product recommendations
  • Ability to operate a computer terminal for infusion preparations
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers and decimals to calculate infusion preparation dosages accurately
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of healthcare and clinical operations
  • Driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of PGY1 Pharmacy Residency
  • Completion of PGY2 in Health-System Pharmacy Administration, Hematology/Oncology, or other Clinical Specialty
  • Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy or Oncology (BCPS or BCOP)
  • Experience as a Clinical Staff Pharmacist or Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in a Hospital or Health System

 

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $110,200 to $188,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
