You’ll play a leadership role in a high volume, focus and performance driven call center where the goal is always to connect with members and enhance the customer experience. In this role, the employee will perform various intake functions such as assigning incoming and outgoing faxes, emails, voicemails, and Provider Portal submissions to ensure Pre-Service, Post Service, Fee Negotiation, NSA Negotiation teams, and NSA Independent Dispute Resolution teams have the required documents for their jobs to be performed.
This position is full-time (40 hours/week), Monday – Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Process inbound documents (emails, faxes, website inquiries, voicemails) with accuracy
- Follow up on incomplete or misrouted documents to ensure correct handling
- Maintain a processing rate of at least two (2) minutes per entry
- Manage a high volume, fast-paced work queue while maintaining processing quality
- Communicate professionally with providers and internal teams
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy and security guidelines
- Stay organized while working independently in a remote setting

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- 1+ years of experience in a related environment (i.e. office, administrative, clerical, customer service, etc.) using phones and computers as the primary job tools
- Experience with PC based software programs and automated database management systems; Microsoft Word (create and edit documents), Microsoft Excel (create, edit, sort, pivot spreadsheets), Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)
- Experience working remotely with minimal supervision
- Ability to work during our normal business hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm CST from Monday – Friday including the flexibility to work occasional overtime based on business need
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience with processing medical, dental, prescription OR mental health claims
Telecommuting Requirements:
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 – $27.69 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
