UnitedHealth Group’s Enterprise Security & Resilience Office (ESRO) is looking for an individual to drive communications and support business operations for the Office of the Chief Security Officer (CSO). This individual will work closely with the ESRO leadership team and teams across the organization to build ESRO’s brand through strategic communications and streamlined operations.
The Communications & Business Operations Lead will partner with ESRO’s senior leadership to drive forward strategic initiatives, create structured communication pathways, and ensure organizational operations are efficient and effective. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with developing cross-functional partnerships, leading without authority, managing complex and competing priorities, and driving strategic communications. Familiarity with cybersecurity, physical security, risk management, regulatory compliance, and/or the healthcare industry is desired, but a proven track record of driving continuous improvements and critical thinking is essential.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage compass communication review and approval processes, ensuring messaging aligns with ESRO’s Communications Strategy and supports security objectives
- Drives progress against ESRO’s Communications Strategy and captures/implements improvement opportunities as the strategy matures
- Coordinates with the ESRO Leadership Team to drive communications that create better alignment with lines of business, customers, functional partners, and employees
- Partner with the ESRO Leadership Team to plan and execute on major security initiatives, with a focus on driving strategic communications for the security function and reducing risk for the enterprise
- Manage the ESRO LT organizational operating rhythm so that it supports Office of the CSO expectations
- Anticipates, manages preparation for, and facilitates leader meetings, ensuring agendas are readahead material are shared prior to meetings, as required
- Drives other strategic initiatives and critical projects on behalf of the Office of the CSO, as required

Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years supporting senior leaders with a specific focus on communications, operating rhythm, and strategic project support
- 5+ years managing projects and leadership priorities
- Proven solid interpersonal and written communication, critical thinking, and task management skills
- 5+ years experience in physical security, cybersecurity, and/or risk management

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $110,200 to $188,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
