This role is responsible for leading workforce optimization analytics across Optum enterprise care delivery operations. The Director will build and maintain complex financial and operational models to support strategic workforce planning, productivity analysis, and performance forecasting. While direct reports may support data mining and dashboard development, this role requires deep hands-on modeling expertise and the ability to translate data into actionable insights for senior leadership.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain dynamic workforce and financial models to support staffing optimization, labor forecasting, and strategic planning
- Analyze operational and financial data to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with operations, finance, and clinical leaders to validate model assumptions and guide decision-making
- Deliver executive-level insights through scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and performance forecasting
- Partner with Practice Optimization leadership to align workforce planning & productivity with budget and organizational goals
- Lead cross-functional initiatives and adapt to evolving business needs
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across systems and reporting platforms
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making
- Uphold HIPAA standards in handling protected health information (PHI)
Advanced Technical Responsibilities:
- Advanced Analytics: Lead data analysis projects using advanced analytics technologies to support strategic decisions
- Financial Modeling: Build and maintain detailed models including workforce cost projections, productivity scenarios, and operational forecasts
- Data Architecture: Design scalable, reliable workforce model architecture solutions
- Dimensional Modeling: Implement dimensional data models to support accurate querying across geographies and specialties
- Interactive Reporting: Guide development of dashboards and visualizations in Power BI (with support from team members)
- SQL Optimization: Write and optimize SQL queries for Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS, and Oracle databases
- Project Management: Manage and organize data-related projects using established methodologies to meet timelines and objectives

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in workforce analytics, financial modeling, or healthcare operations
- Solid hands-on experience building and maintaining complex models in Excel
- Familiarity with accounting principles and financial statement analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with workforce management systems and labor forecasting
- Proficiency in Power BI, SQL, and data visualization tools
- Solid analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Ability to collaborate across departments and influence at all levels of the organization

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $110,200 to $188,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
