Position Details:
- Location: 123 Summer St, Worcester, MA 01606
- Department: Orthopedics
- Schedule: Full time, 38.75 hours/weekly, Monday through Friday, scheduled hours between 8:30AM – 5:00PM
This position performs a full range of medical support services while ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction
Primary Responsibilities:
- Greets patients and escorts them to the exam room. Establishes the reason for the patient visit and prepares the patient accordingly.
- Provides direct and indirect care following standard procedures while identifying and recording physical findings. Verifies patient medications, performs medication reconciliation, and pends refills. Collects and documents a variety of forms. Documents patient information in the chart following standard procedures. Monitors and maintains patient flow. Assists in the management of patient flow and access.
- Performs a variety of point-of-care testing functions, quality control, and office procedures such as aspiration of fluid, etc. Documents testing in the patient chart. Maintains laboratory logs following standard procedures.
- Performs a variety of procedures such as applying hot/cold compresses, applying/removing simple to complex wound dressings (as defined by site) under the direction of a provider or licensed staff member, suture removal, staple removal, DME splints/orthoglass application, DME dispensing, etc.

Required Qualification:
- Medical Assistant diploma, technical certificate or certification OR 1+ years of experience performing the critical skills of a medical assistant after on-the-job training OR Current enrollment in an accredited Medical Assistant program OR EMT certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active medical assistant certification (CMA, CCMA, NCMA, RMA and CMAC)
- CPR certification
- Experience with electronic medical record software (EPIC)
- Experience performing medical back-office tasks including obtaining vital signs, injections/immunizations, phlebotomy, urinalysis and administering medications
- Proven excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits re subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $17.74 to $31.63 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
