The Consumer Credit Risk Manager is responsible for supporting the Bank’s consumer and small business lending initiatives by ensuring the implementation of sound credit risk management practices and adherence to regulatory requirements. Operating within the Second Line of Defense, this role provides independent oversight, delivers effective challenge to credit strategies, and contributes to the design and enhancement of enterprise risk management frameworks.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with First Line teams to ensure consumer and small business lending activities comply with internal policies and strategic goals
  • Review and challenge credit extension proposals to ensure alignment with risk appetite and regulatory standards
  • Participate in governance forums and regulatory exams, supporting readiness and documentation
  • Work closely with senior management to provide insights on emerging risks and portfolio performance
  • Assist in developing and enhancing risk policies, risk metrics, and early warning systems on consumer credit risk 
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Second Line of Defense credit risk framework and risk oversight practices
  • Support oversight of stress testing, credit loss allowance, and liquidity, and interest rate risk management
  • Support third-party risk management activities, including vendor onboarding and oversight, and risk assessments
  • Oversee risk management of consumer loan securitization, including asset pool evaluation, performance monitoring, and compliance with investor and regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree from an accredited institution
  • 8+ years of experience in credit risk disciplines including underwriting, pricing, credit limits, and collections with emphasis on unsecured consumer lending
  • 6+ years of experience in lending, credit risk management, regulatory supervision, credit audit or similar work with consumer and small business lending
  • 6+ years of experience supporting consumer credit stress testing and Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with subprime lending and automated decisioning platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze credit strategies and exposure limits to ensure alignment with risk appetite
  • Expertise in understanding and developing consumer credit strategies and loss curves
  • Experience with risk managing consumer loan securitization, including asset pool evaluation, performance monitoring, and compliance regulatory requirements
  • Working knowledge of third-party risk management activities, including vendor oversight, risk assessments, and compliance monitoring

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $89,900 to $160,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
