The Specialty Pharmacy Technician in Frontier Therapies will be on the team of an exciting business serving patients with rare diseases, pharma manufacturers, and providers by dispensing and servicing therapies at the frontier of healthcare. The Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for prescription fulfillment duties within a pharmacy location within the Optum Frontier portfolio located in Flint, MI. Under direct supervision from the Site Director, the Specialty Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for ensuring an entire order is fulfilled with accuracy.

Position Location: 325 W Atherton Rd. Flint, MI 48507

Position Schedule: Monday through Friday with 8-hour shifts between the hours of 7:00am-5:00pm

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform various duties related to the fulfillment of prescription orders
  • Dispense any or all the following: specialty pharmaceuticals, injectables, cell gene therapies, and related supplies following state and federal regulations and company policies and procedures
  • Process, pack and ship outgoing pharmacy orders, ensuring drug, related supplies and patient collateral (education materials) are included
  • May also perform drug/supply ordering and inventory/warehouse duties, including proper storage of drugs and supplies and appropriate refrigeration of perishable product, monitor and adjust/calibrate pharmacy equipment
  • Process, pack and ship outgoing specialty distribution orders, ensuring drug, related supplies and accurate documents are included
  • Prepare and scan documents, verify member/patient data, submit prescription orders in computer system
  • Contact patients to validate data, resolve rejected claims, request payment information, establish priority of order or delivery details, address medication issues, and coordinate treatment with on-site facilities personnel
  • Interpret provider prescription and create order, access, input and retrieve prescription and medical/lab information from computer system, verifies whether order/drug is reimbursable/covered
  • Perform tracking logistics for outbound shipments to ensure they arrive at destination. Work to include triaging packages that were misrouted to ensure meet destination

Required Qualifications:

  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician License in the state of Michigan
  • 1+ years of pharmacy experience
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours with intermittent breaks
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred Qualifications:

  • National PTCB certification
  • 1+ years of working in a warehouse or supply chain inventory environment
  • Specialty pharmacy experience

Soft Skills:

  • Be a team player and collaborate across functions
  • Ability to multi-task and be detail oriented
  • Ability to work efficiently without creating distraction or disruption to other employees

     

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $27.69 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
