The financial analyst will have a pivotal role in the Health Plan Analysis team and collaborate with multiple departments such as Accounting, Payor Contracting, and FP&A. This position will primarily be responsible for capitation revenue processing, payment integrity and validation, and providing real time reporting to management. This role will work with month end close and closely with teammates and management to meet deadlines with accuracy across the southern California markets.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Understand capitation revenue payments from multiple health plans and lines of business, such as HMO, Medi-Cal, and Medicare
  • Read and understand contractual language regarding revenue definitions
  • Work in SQL to pull data and create basic queries
  • Work in Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Must be proficient in Excel for reporting and analytics
  • Communicate effectively in written and verbal forms with partnering teams
  • Comprehend forecast and timing within the business
  • Provide accurate reporting for management to make key business decisions. This includes membership, revenue, and PMPMs
  • Detail oriented individual who can work in a team setting as well as independently
  • Translate complex concepts in ways that can be understood by variety of audiences
  • Understand health plan data file layouts along with data dictionaries with an in depth knowledge of what each spec means
  • Work in a fast-paced environment to meet month end close deadlines and ad hoc requests
  • Assist with SOX audits and capitation validation by health plan and product. Prepare SOX packages monthly and keep all files in an inventory and organized fashion
  • Must have a positive attitude, ability to adapt, and be flexible as the business and organization changes

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or certification in Accounting, Finance or IT related field
  • Experience with large data sets
  • SQL experience
  • High proficiency in Microsoft (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Communicate verbally and written exceptionally well. Speak and present in meetings
  • Fast learner with ability to adapt
  • Self-motivated, organized, and possesses a high degree of autonomy and maturity
  • Ability to multi-task and operate at a high-level under pressure

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $58,800 to $105,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
