Optum Serve is the federal health services business of Optum and UnitedHealth Group, delivering a broad spectrum of health solutions to the government, military, and veteran communities. 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Financial Consultant to partner with senior leadership in driving financial excellence across Optum Serve. This role plays a critical part in delivering insightful financial analysis, accurate reporting, and strategic guidance to support key business decisions and long-term growth.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support forecasting and budgeting processes to ensure alignment with financial goals
  • Conduct variance analysis and financial performance reviews to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Develop and maintain custom financial reports and dashboards tailored to business needs
  • Research and validate journal entries to ensure accurate accounting of costs and revenue
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to senior leaders to support data-driven decision-making

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
  • 3+ years of experience of financial modeling and tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau
  • 3+ years of experience  with GAAP, cost accounting, and internal controls
  • Proven excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across departments and with senior stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with government contracts and compliance processes
  • Experience working with Deltek Costpoint or Acterys for financial activities such as budgeting, forecasting, reporting, or analytics

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $71,200 to $127,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
