The Market Operations Manager will act as an Operations subject matter expert in working with the growth team and local leadership. The Market Operations Manager will provide guidance regarding feasibility of implementing proposed risk contracts, educate potential and existing clients regarding capabilities, and ensure a close connection between local market needs and operational capabilities and capacity.
The Market Operations Manager will be responsible for maintaining a high level of satisfaction from the local leadership teams regarding Operations performance, and overall responsiveness and attention from Operations.
This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday – Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8am – 5pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
We offer 4 weeks of paid training. The hours of training will be based on your schedule or will be discussed on your first day of employment.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary senior contact for local issues related to our shared service operations (service, claims, eligibility, utilization management, prior authorization, payment integrity, provider data management, configuration, IT, project management, etc.)
- Work collaboratively with the heads of centralized operations regarding local market issues
- Accountable for ensuring the shared services operating metrics consistently meet and/or exceed all compliance requirements as well as key performance targets and associated service level agreements established with the local Market
- Work with staff and senior management to develop and implement improvements and oversight for all operational areas that impact performance
- Act as an advocate for local Market needs and influence change within Operations to meet customer needs
- Act as an advocate for Operations when influence is needed within the local Market teams
- Develop relationships with the local provider community
- Educate providers on billing issues, portal navigation, claims policies, and other information
- Work with Operations leadership to design innovative ways to enhance our service model and improve customer satisfaction
- Directs analytical activities to identify trends and potential opportunities within our Shared Service Operations functions that may impact the affordability of the local Market

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- 5+ years of experience in managed care and operations management
- 5+ years of client relationship and/or conflict resolution experience
- 3+ years of implementation and/or project management experience
- Experience executing formal change management techniques
- Experience leading process improvement initiatives with or without direct authority
- Experience creating and monitoring performance scorecards and/or performance metrics
- Experience driving and executing customer focused strategies
- Adaptability and flexibility to a rapidly moving business environment
- Experience problem solving issues, including multiple priorities and research conflicting and / or inaccurate data
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:
- Six Sigma certified
- Medicare Advantage experience
- Commercial/Medicaid experience
- Operational healthcare experience
- Customer orientation, communication (written/verbal) and presentation skills
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
- Communication, time management, and organizational skills
Telecommuting Requirements:
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $89,900 – $160,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
