In this position, you will be responsible for managing inbound and outbound calls in a timely manner. Your primary goal is to provide excellent customer service, resolve customer inquiries, and ensure customer satisfaction.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday – Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7:30am – 4pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. 

We offer 4 weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of training will be 8:00am – 4:30pm CST, Monday – Friday.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reviews electronic chart documentation ensuring correct patient, location, and no duplicate information
  • Processes release of information (ROI) requests
  • Manages requests for documentation and information
  • Scans and edits documents in the electronic medical record
  • Locates, logs, retrieves, files, and delivers medical records stored in various mediums and systems
  • May train and mentor co-workers
  • Analyzes documentation and tracks completion to meet regulatory requirements
  • Promotes principles of health information accuracy, transparency, currency, accessibility, relevancy, and reliability
  • Work with Microsoft Word, Excel (create, edit, save documents and spreadsheets) and Outlook (email and calendar management)
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent experience
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 1+ years of customer service experience within a hospital or healthcare environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to train for the first 4 weeks from 8:00am – 4:30pm CST, Monday – Friday
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) Monday – Friday. Preferred Qualifications:

  • RHIT or RHIA certification
  • Health Information Management (HIM) experience
  • Experience working within the health care Industry and with health care insurance
  • Experience working in a hospital, physician’s office or medical clinic setting
  • Administrative support background
  • 2+ years of customer service experience
  • Experience working in a call center
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience communicating with patients & staff with various educational & socio-economic backgrounds

                                          

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

The hourly range for this role is $16.88 to $33.22 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
