The Associate Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols, working cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, delivering excellent customer service and adhering to Lean processes, and supporting the teams in meeting financial, clinical and service goals.

This position is full-time, Monday – Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work an 8-hour shift schedule during our normal business hours of 6:30am – 5:00pm MST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

We offer 3 weeks of paid training. The hours of training will be aligned with your schedule.

If you are located within 75 miles to our office at 165 S Union Blvd, Lakewood, CO, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Obtain accurate and updated patient information, such as name, address, insurance information
  • Perform insurance verification on the date of service
  • Maintain medical records and smart form tracking sheets for all departments
  • Confirms and schedule appointments
  • Answer telephone calls promptly and courteously
  • Scheduling referrals
  • Performs certain follow-up services for patients in a prompt and courteous manner, such as scheduling specialist appointments, scheduling follow-up appointments and
  • Adhere to the standards identified via Sparq regarding Optum Employee Policies
  • Work cohesively with fellow employees to achieve specific team goals
  • Comfortable working in high pace environment
  • Assure the continuity of care through scheduling and tracking systems
  • Provide effective communication to patient / family team members and other health care professionals as evidenced by documentation, case conferences, communication notes, and evaluations
  • Notify clinical staff of schedule changes as they occur
  • Comply with administrative policies to ensure quality of care
  • Demonstrate precision and efficiency in scanning documents and monitoring the fax server, retrieving and / or scanning documents and assigning to the appropriate electronic chart
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required
  • All employees are expected to keep abreast on current medical requirements relevant to their position, which includes maintaining patient confidentiality and abiding by all HIPPA and OSHA requirements
  • Complete new clinical competencies rolled out by the Educational Committee
  • Work independently
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 1+ years of customer service experience related to Healthcare
  • Experience with computers and Windows based programs including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and the ability to use multiple web applications
  • Knowledge of EMR software
  • Ability to work Monday – Friday, in an 8-hour shift schedule during our normal business hours of 6:30am – 5:00pm MST, including the flexibility to work occasional overtime, based on business need

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
  • 1+ years of experience working in a medical front office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, insurance verification, and maintaining medical records
  • Epic experience

 

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Reside within 75 miles to the office at 165 S Union Blvd, Lakewood, CO
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

The hourly range for this role is $16.00 to $28.85 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
