The Refund Analyst will be primarily responsible for the daily processing of third party and patient refund utilizing a credit balance report, correspondence, or incoming calls.
Primary Responsibilities:
- The analyst will be required to research patient accounts on the Business Office System (Epic) with an understanding of payment, allowance, and write-off transactions
- The incumbent will need to be able to interpret EOB’s and R/A’s and comprehend coordination of benefits
- The analyst will also be responsible for maintaining documentation, reconciling, and resolving unapplied cash balances in a timely manner
- Basic financial and analytical skills are required to insure accurate revenue reporting for Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. This position required a candidate who demonstrates a positive demeanor, good verbal and written communication skills, and who is professional in both appearance and approach. All Kelsey- Seybold Clinic Business Office staff are expected to comply with company policy and procedures

Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in a health care billing and collection environment or relevant health care setting using an accounting/health care computer system
- Understanding of payment/adjustment/write-off/applications & HMO Benefits to ensure credit balances are resolved and not inappropriately refunded
- Knowledge of healthcare business office patient accounting system, coordination of benefits, EOB/RA interpretations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Successful completion of Coding and Billing class
- 6+ years of related experience
- 6+ years of experience in a health care billing and collection environment or relative health care setting using an accounting/health care computer system in area of specialty. Epic Professional Billing experience a definite plus as is an understanding of a diversity of insurance plans.
- Epic practice management software experience
- MS Word, Excel, Access proficiency
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $17.74 to $31.63 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
