Disability Inclusion Internship Program
In partnership with Disability Workforce Development Agencies and Non-Profit Community Partners, UnitedHealth Group is offering a career development program open to candidates with disabilities who want to gain corporate experience in a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture.
The Disability Inclusion Internship program launched in Fall 2020 in the state of Minnesota, and in San Antonio, Texas. While we were recognized as one of the best workplaces for disability inclusion Opens in a new window, we are expanding our disability inclusion movement with room to grow to new locations each year.
Program Details:
- Deliver a 12-15 week program in a cohort setting.
- Provide flexible full-time and part-time hours.
- Offer competitive pay to program participants with the potential to gain permanent employment.
Program Objectives:
- Allow participants to explore careers in the health care industry.
- Prepare interns for UnitedHealth Group corporate roles through mentorship in culture and work environment.
- Give participants the opportunity to learn new skills through hands-on training and shadowing.

Eligibility Requirements
- Candidates must be a part of the disability talent community
- Candidates must be local to the area of the job opening if the job posting specifies this requirement
- Candidates must participate for the full 12-15 weeks of the program and start on a specified date determined by their cohort group
- Candidates should be open to the possibility of permanent employment if they were to receive an offer
- Candidates must meet all requirements for the position(s) they choose to apply to
